In China, Vietnam, and Saudi Arabia, an increasing number of construction sites are using high-strength alloy steel formwork.

As of September 2026, the national market stock of high-strength steel formwork was approximately 6 million square meters, showing consecutive year-on-year growth compared to 2024 and 2025.

In terms of application structure, 85% of the products are used in the construction of vertical shear walls in high-rise and super high-rise buildings, 13% in the construction of standardized columns, and only 2% of beams, slabs, and irregular structures are directly formed using high-strength steel formwork. Most of these require a combination of high-strength steel and wooden formwork, indicating that large-scale application is still in its early exploratory stages. The low application rate in beams, slabs, and irregular structures is mainly due to limitations in product toughness, R-angle processing technology, and the manufacturing cost of irregular components, corresponding to the shortcomings described in the product performance section.
